The League of Women Voters is a nonpartisan organization for men and women that encourages the informed and active participation of citizens in government and influences public policy through education and advocacy. Any citizen over the age of 18 may become a voting member of the League and can work on local, state, regional and national program issues. Sponsorship of the Ruth Pauley Speakers is one of the many ways it promotes education on issues which are important to citizens. The League truly exemplifies the motto: “Making Democracy Work.”
 

The Moore County School system consists of 23 schools serving more than 12,800 students offering a comprehensive curriculum that includes work force development, programs for special needs and gifted students as well as performing and fine arts education. Our schools continue to promote high standards for all and have consistently met or exceeded growth expectations in the state’s “ABC” accountability program. The system is a proud sponsor of the Ruth Pauley Speakers bringing outstanding speakers to the community. 
 

The Sandhills Community College is delighted to be the host sponsor of the Ruth Pauley Speakers. One of our college’s most important responsibilities is to contribute to the cultural life of our community and the continuing education of the people of our area. The Ruth Pauley Speakers annually educate, stimulate and entertain people from throughout the Sandhills. It is one of the real joys of living in this area and one of the programs of which our college is the proudest.
